On October 9, 2019, Rocket arrived in the whelping box alongside four sisters. Initially, there were no plans to keep him, but Rocket had different intentions. He quickly showcased a remarkable set of qualities for a young pup, including sound movement, a profound fascination with birds, and the knack for solving simple problems. His journey towards becoming a show champion was supposed to commenced on his 6-month birthday when he was entered into four shows. However, fate took an unexpected turn when the world came to a standstill due to the pandemic and shows were cancelled. However, Rocket went on to make his conformation debut at the VCA Nationals in Estes Colorado in August 2020, securing an impressive second place in the 6-9 month puppy dog class. Despite the challenging circumstances, he achieved his championship title by March 18, 2021, a remarkable feat during a time when events with major entries were scarce.
Not one to be idle, while working on his show championship, Rocket had also earned all his junior hunter passes with exceptional scores. Rocket's prowess in the field continued to shine as he earned his Senior Hunter title with four consecutive passes in May 2022. Notably, he garnered several field trial placements, culminating in a significant victory on November 14, 2020, when he triumphed in the Open Puppy class at the Irish Setter Club of the Pacific Field Trial. Not stopping there, he claimed the Open Derby title among 16 competitors at the same trial, solidifying his “dual-pointed” status.
Rocket's achievements, again, extended into the show ring, where he completed his Grand Championship in the spring of 2022. His impressive record boasts 13 major GCH wins. Beyond his accolades, Rocket holds a special place in the hearts of his family, bringing boundless joy and earning the love of both his human and canine moms.
